NTE beginner mistakes: 9 ways to waste time and currency

Start Neverness to Everness on iOS or Android without wasting early time or currency. Avoid these nine Version 1.4 account, upgrade, stamina, event, and weekly-routine mistakes.

The brief answer

Protect the account choices that are expensive to undo, then keep combat and city progression on separate plans.

Choose the correct server and login, open the main systems before roaming widely, and build one functional team. Treat Character Pixels and City Stamina as separate budgets, spend against a named bottleneck, and spread city activities across the week.

Current state · Version 1.4 live

NTE's scheduled Version 1.4 maintenance window ended at 04:00 WAT on September 30. The official homepage is now presenting Version 1.4 events and rewards. The update adds events, accelerates Fons accumulation in the original City Tycoon Program, and gives Character Pixels and City Stamina separate bonus periods.

The nine mistakes at a glance

  1. Creating progress on the wrong server or login.
  2. Roaming widely before the main route opens essential systems.
  3. Upgrading every interesting character at once.
  4. Treating Character Pixels and City Stamina as one resource.
  5. Letting natural energy cap—or spending restoration items without a goal.
  6. Ignoring City Tycoon because it looks optional.
  7. Converting premium currency before naming the target.
  8. Treating every event and red dot as urgent.
  9. Saving the entire weekly city loop for one exhausting session.

1. Starting on the wrong server or login

This is the mistake to prevent before you play. NTE supports progress across PC, Mac, PlayStation and mobile when you use the same game account, but its Asia, America, Europe and SEA servers are independent. Progress created on one server does not merge into another.

Confirm three things at the login screen: the intended PWG or linked login, the server nearest your normal location, and the server your friends use. The official launch FAQ also warns that accounts created through different third-party login identities remain separate. Five minutes of checking is cheaper than discovering the split after several evenings of progress.

Mobile players should also leave at least 20 GB free before installing or updating. That is the official floor, not a promise that every future patch will fit into the same working space.

2. Roaming before the main route opens the useful systems

Hethereau is designed to distract you with streets, vehicles, shops and side activities. Explore—but do not assume every visible diversion advances the account equally.

Early player guides repeatedly point back to the main route until the Exploration Guide, daily tasks, Character Pixels and the City Tycoon introduction are available. A good opening rhythm is simple: follow the main objective, take a nearby detour when it is genuinely useful, then return before the detour becomes the whole session.

The goal is not to rush the story. It is to unlock the tools that make later exploration pay you back.

3. Building every character at once

NTE uses four-character teams, but that does not mean every early pull needs immediate levels, promotion materials and equipment. The early reward flow can make six projects look affordable right before costs begin to separate them.

Build one functional core first: dependable damage, survival or control, and enough role coverage to clear the content in front of you. Keep new characters available at low investment until they solve a real problem or complete a team you intend to use.

This is not a demand to obey a permanent tier list. Version updates change characters, encounters and available rewards. Focused investment protects choice; it does not forbid favorites.

4. Treating Character Pixels and City Stamina as one resource

The two systems fund different parts of the game and run on different clocks.

  • Character Pixels support combat progression and upgrade-material farming. They replenish through the day.
  • City Stamina funds Hethereau Hobbies and City Tycoon activities. It operates on a weekly cycle.

Version 1.4 makes the distinction unusually visible: its schedule gives City Stamina a “Stamina Recharge” bonus period and Character Pixels a separate “Pixel Surge” period. Spending one does not solve neglect of the other.

Keep two short plans. For Pixels, name the next character, Arc or guaranteed upgrade. For City Stamina, choose city activities you can sustain across the week.

5. Hoarding natural energy—or burning restoration items without a goal

Letting naturally replenishing Pixels sit capped stops their recovery. Spend enough to keep the meter moving, preferably on a guaranteed need: promotion materials, a current character bottleneck, or another upgrade you can name.

Restoration items deserve more nuance. Current players disagree about whether they should be used early to reach higher reward tiers faster or saved for a later character and more efficient stages. Both approaches can be rational.

The safe rule is not “always spend” or “always save.” Use a restoration item when it changes a present outcome. Do not spend it merely because it exists, and do not preserve it forever while the team remains blocked.

6. Treating City Tycoon as optional side content

City Tycoon is tied to Fons progression and opens more of the city's activities. Ignoring it because it looks like a collection of minigames leaves a second progression lane underdeveloped.

Version 1.4 increases Fons accumulation speed in the original City Tycoon Program and adds the Sweetdream Charity Drive, which can directly boost Fons progress through specified donations. That makes old launch-era efficiency advice especially vulnerable to becoming stale.

Unlock the system, learn which activities you actually enjoy, and use those as the backbone. The fastest activity on somebody else's account is not automatically the best routine for yours.

7. Spending premium currency before naming the target

NTE presents multiple pull items, event rewards, refills and rotating offers. That complexity creates a common beginner error: converting flexible currency because a shop badge is visible, not because the purchase advances a chosen plan.

Before converting or spending Annulith, write the target in one sentence: a specific limited character, a confirmed threshold, or a time-sensitive item you have deliberately valued. Then check the current board rules and end date in the live client.

If you cannot name the target, keeping the currency flexible is a useful default. This article does not prescribe a permanent banner plan because Version 1.4 boards and future updates can change the decision.

8. Treating every event and red dot as urgent

Version 1.4 opens several events on different dates. The seven-day Circle Gifts login event, Pukaland activities, Terminal Depths, Stamina Recharge and Pixel Surge do not all demand completion in the same session.

Sort them into three groups:

  1. claims that expire if ignored;
  2. limited attempts or energy that stop accumulating at a cap;
  3. optional progress that can wait.

Check the event's actual end time before changing your routine. A red dot is a notification, not an editorial judgment about the best use of your evening.

9. Saving the weekly city loop for one long session

Recurring player reports describe the same failure pattern: City Stamina feels manageable until it is left for the final day, when a varied city system turns into a repetitive cleanup job.

Spread it out. Do one or two short activities you like, collect passive income when convenient, and let the weekly total fall gradually. Exact fastest routes vary with owned characters, Tycoon level and bonuses, so a sustainable plan is more transferable than a single “optimal” activity.

A beginner route should reduce friction, not turn Hethereau into another inbox.

A practical first-week rule

When a new menu opens, ask four questions:

  1. Is this account-wide or tied to this server?
  2. Does it spend Character Pixels, City Stamina, Fons or premium currency?
  3. What concrete problem does the spend solve today?
  4. Does it expire, cap, or remain available later?

If those answers are unclear, follow the main route, protect flexible currency, and return after the system explains itself.

NTE beginner FAQ

Can I move NTE progress between mobile and PC?

Yes, when you use the same supported account. The official FAQ says progress carries across supported platforms, but regional servers are separate and different third-party login identities can create separate accounts.

Should I reroll in NTE?

Most casual players do not need to. Reroll only if you have a specific target and consider the repeated opening worth your time. Do not delay learning the game indefinitely for a launch-era tier list.

Should I save every stamina-restoration item?

No universal answer is supported. Players reasonably disagree between using items to reach better stages sooner and saving them for a future build. Spend when it solves a named bottleneck; otherwise keep the option.

What is the difference between Character Pixels and City Stamina?

Character Pixels fund combat-progression farming and refill through the day. City Stamina funds city activities and follows a weekly cycle. Version 1.4 schedules separate bonus events for them.

How much storage does NTE need on mobile?

The official launch FAQ requires at least 20 GB free on Android and iOS. Updates may need additional temporary working space, so the practical safe margin can be higher.
